The decision to build the Baikonur Cosmodrome, the world's first and largest spaceport which is located near Toretam village between the town of Kazalinsk and Zhosaly village in Kyzyl-Orda region, was adopted in 1955.
In 1992, the Protocol on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan was signed in Almaty.

In 2016, the Kazakhstan national flag raising ceremony was held at the new building of the Kazakh Embassy in Azerbaijan.
The same day "Walnut Tree", Yerlan Nurmukhambetov's film produced by Kazakhfilm Studio, won the International Jury Special Mention Award and the Critics Jury Award at the Vesoul International Film Festival.
